reverse engineering
The discontinued part, measured, modeled, and back in production.
Working from the object, not the archive
A discontinued part rarely comes with drawings, and the company that made it may not exist anymore. We start from the object itself, measuring it directly and rebuilding it as a complete, dimensioned model without needing an original file. If a drawing does exist but has faded, been scanned badly, or gone missing entirely, we treat it the same way: as a starting point to verify against the physical part, not a requirement.
- Discontinued and unsupported parts measured, modeled, and remanufactured from nothing but the physical piece
- Faded or lost drawings recreated as clean, dimensioned CAD packages ready to hand to a shop
Getting the rebuilt part made
A finished model does not make a part appear. Someone still has to find a shop willing to cut it, at a price and lead time that make sense, and stay on top of that shop until the part is right. We take on that role directly, as your liaison between the design and the shop floor, so the back-and-forth stays off your desk.
- We translate the finished design into the language a shop expects: specs, tolerances, and materials stated plainly
- We source and compare quotes, and vet fabricators whether they are local or overseas
- We manage the back-and-forth between design and production until the part arrives
